Upgrading from Standard to Premier in Windows Vista™
Windows Vista has security restrictions that may block the upgrade installation. Using the "administrator" permission level will allow you to complete your upgrade.
Resolution
Take the steps below to run the Upgrade Wizard with elevated privileges in the Windows Vista operating system:
- If you haven't already done so, purchase the upgraded serial number from our Online Store.
- Once you have your upgraded serial number, take the following steps to apply the upgrade:
- Close Business Plan Pro if it is already open.
- Navigate to the following folder on the hard drive of your computer:
C:\Program Files\Business Plan Pro - Double click on the appropriate folder for your edition of the software:
- US Edition - bppenu
- UK Edition - bppeng
- Right click on the Pas.Bppenu11.exe file and choose Run as administrator. This will launch the program with elevated administrator privileges for this time only.
- When you reach the Start a Plan screen, click the link to create a new plan then close the Plan Setup wizard.
- Click the Help drop down menu at the top of Business Plan Pro and choose Upgrade.
- The Upgrade Wizard will launch and then guide you through entering your upgraded serial number into the program.
- Once the Wizard has completed, the program will close and then automatically launch the Premier version of Business Plan Pro.
- If you haven't already done so, purchase the upgraded serial number from our Online Store.
- Using your new serial number, download the installer from our Software Pickup Page
- Once you have downloaded the installer (bppenu11.exe or bppeng11.exe), right click on the file and choose Run as administrator
- The Premier version of the software will be installed with elevated administrator privileges to ensure a successful installation.
- Once you have your upgraded serial number, take the following steps to apply the upgrade:
- Close Business Plan Pro if it is already open.
- Right-click on the Business Plan Pro shortcut icon on your Desktop
- Choose Run as administrator. This will launch the program with elevated administrator privileges for this time only.
- When you reach the Start a Plan screen, click the X in the upper right hand corner of this window to close it.
- Click the Help drop down menu at the top of Business Plan Pro and choose Upgrade.
- The Upgrade Wizard will launch and then guide you through entering your upgraded serial number into the program.
- Once the Wizard has completed, the program will close and then automatically launch the Premier version of Business Plan Pro.
